Overview

The Pinterest Local Inventory feed template allows you to publish store-specific inventory, pricing, and availability for products in your Pinterest catalog.

Unlike your primary catalog feed, the Local Inventory feed supplements your existing catalog by associating products with specific store locations. This allows Pinterest to display local availability and pricing to nearby shoppers.

This feed is what unlocks Pinterest's local shopping calls-to-action — In stock near you, Order local delivery, and Pick up in store — and it's a requirement before your products become eligible for Local Inventory ad campaigns. Without it, Pinterest has no way to show a shopper accurate, store-specific pricing or availability near them.

Before you begin

Before publishing a Local Inventory feed, ensure you have:

  • A Pinterest Business account
  • A Retail Catalog published to Pinterest
  • Store locations already uploaded using the Pinterest Store feed
  • A Pinterest Local Inventory feed configured in GoDataFeed
  • A Hosted Feed URL

Note: Store Codes in your Local Inventory feed must match the Store Codes used in your Pinterest Store feed. Product IDs must also match the IDs in your primary catalog.

Supported Fields

Required

Field Description
ID Product ID from your primary catalog

Uploading Your Local Inventory Feed to Pinterest

Once your Hosted Feed URL is ready, add it to Pinterest as a supplemental data source:

Step 1: Open Supplemental Data Sources

  1. Sign in to Pinterest Ads Manager.
  2. Open your Retail Catalog.
  3. Navigate to Data Sources.
  4. Select the Supplementary Data Source tab.
  5. Click Add supplementary data source.

Step 2: Select Local Inventory

  1. Choose Local Inventory.
  2. Continue to the upload screen.

Step 3: Upload your Local Inventory Feed

  1. Upload your feed or provide your Hosted Feed URL.
  2. Complete the setup.
  3. Save the supplemental feed.

Step 4: Review Diagnostics

After the feed is processed:

  • Open Diagnostics.
  • Review any warnings or errors.
  • Correct issues and republish as needed.

After Publishing

After your Local Inventory feed has been processed successfully:

  • Products will display store-specific availability.
  • Store-specific pricing can be shown.
  • Products become eligible for Local Inventory campaigns.

Tips

  • Upload the feed as a Supplementary Data Source, not a Primary Data Source.
  • Ensure Store Codes match your Store feed.
  • Ensure Product IDs match your primary catalog.
  • Use UTF-8 encoding.
  • Wrap values in quotes when needed.
  • Maintain the feed regularly to keep inventory current.

Troubleshooting

  • Feed uploaded to the wrong data source.
  • Store Code doesn't match the Store feed.
  • Product ID doesn't exist in the primary catalog.
  • Review Diagnostics for ingestion errors.
  • Export the error report, correct the feed, and re-upload.

Not quite what you needed?

A Local Inventory feed only works alongside store locations that already exist in Pinterest — if you haven't set those up yet, or you're not actually trying to show store-level data, here's where to go instead:

Missing your store locations?

Local Inventory can't run without Store Codes that already exist in Pinterest. If you haven't uploaded your store locations yet, start there. See Feed: Publishing Store Locations to Pinterest.

Looking for something else?

If you don't need store-level pricing or availability, a standard product catalog may be all you need. See Feed: Pinterest - Publishing a feed to Pinterest. If you're promoting branded content, lifestyle imagery, or video that isn't tied to individual products, use a Creative Catalog instead. See Feed: Pinterest Creative Catalog.
