How can we get our descriptions to render without html?

Answer

GoDataFeed has the ability to automatically scrub html from descriptions so that your product listings are optimized for the channel's requirements.

However, some customers utilize markdown or content editors which inject custom non-valid html into description fields. If you are using tools such as Magento Pagebuilder, WooCommerce Gutenberg, or WP-Stackable then completing one of the following options will make sure your product listings are optimized:

1. Use a different description field such as a "shortdescription" or "metafield" description field.
2. Remove the plugin so the description field is clean.
3. Add a merge file with the description data for every sku. 
4. You can create a rule to map "description" to "description" and add a text replace within the rule to replace the selected html with nothing. This can remove the rule details if you have a repetitive piece of html updating in the description continuously.
