For Shopify merchants running multiple warehouses: GoDataFeed can pull inventory from a single, specific Shopify location instead of lumping every warehouse into one total. Why does my feed show total inventory instead of one location?

By default, a Shopify Marketplace import brings in a single combined inventory number that adds up stock across every location. If you have three warehouses with 4, 12, and 0 units of a SKU, the import shows 16. To break that apart and use just one location's count, GoDataFeed needs Shopify to send the per-location levels, which is controlled by a single import setting. Once that is on, Shopify exposes a separate inventory field for each location, and you choose which one your feed uses.

How do I bring in per-location inventory?

The per-location fields do not exist in your import until you enable them. Turn on the setting first, then re-import so the new fields appear.

1. Open your Shopify import and go to the Primary Source section.
2. Enable Inventory Levels. Its description reads "Enabled this option to bring in location inventory levels." This is the toggle that creates a separate field per Shopify location.
   
3. Save and re-import your catalog. After the import completes, each location appears as its own field named inventory_location_[ID], where [ID] is the Shopify location's internal ID (for example, inventory_location_8532295716).

Note: Inventory Levels and Inventory Levels Paging are different settings. You want Inventory Levels. The paging option is a performance setting for large catalogs and does not, on its own, surface the per-location fields.

How do I know which location field is which?

Each per-location field is named by Shopify's internal location ID, not by your warehouse name, so the IDs will look the same across stores but the numbers are unique to your account. To confirm which inventory_location_[ID] field maps to the warehouse you want, check the value against a SKU whose stock you already know. Pick a SKU, look at the count in the location you intend to use (for example, 12 units at your "Reach Road" warehouse), and find the import field showing that same value. That field is the one to map. If you are unsure, our support team can confirm the correct field for a sample SKU.

How do I update my feed to use a single location?

Inventory may need to be adjusted differently across your feeds, so this is set at the feed level, not globally. You have two ways to point a feed at the location field, and which one you use depends on how your feed's quantity is currently set up.

Option 1: Update the field mapping

If your feed's quantity attribute is mapped directly to a single import field, open that feed, find the attribute that carries inventory (commonly quantity or availability), and change its mapped source field to the inventory_location_[ID] field for the location you want. Save and recompile the feed.

Option 2: Update your existing rule

If your quantity is driven by a rule (for example, a rule that sets availability or transforms the stock value), edit that rule so it reads from the correct inventory_location_[ID] field instead of the combined inventory field. Keep the rest of your rule logic intact and update only the source field it references. Save and recompile.

Because this is per feed, you can send one channel the inventory from one warehouse and another channel a different warehouse by mapping each feed to its own location field.

Troubleshooting

If the inventory_location_[ID] fields are not showing up, confirm that Inventory Levels is enabled in Primary Source and that you have run a fresh import since enabling it. The fields only populate after a re-import. If your feed still shows the combined total after mapping, recompile the feed so the new field value is appl
