How to Install the GoDataFeed app in BigCommerce

Installing the Godatafeed app in BigCommerce from their app store is the quickest way to get started. You can sign in to an existing account or sign up directly at signup.godatafeed.com.

Step 1: Navigate to the BigCommerce App Marketplace

Select GET THIS APP from to the right on the GoDataFeed App page (this will open GoDataFeed within your BigCommerce Dashboard).

Step 2: Go to Sign up or Login using your GoDataFeed account.

If there is more than 1 store on the GoDataFeed account, then you will be prompted to select the store to where you are installing the GoDataFeed App

Step 3: Once you have completed signing up or logging into your existing account and selecting your store you should be prompted to Import Now.

Please see the following additional import settings that you may want to review and enable depending on your store preferences and how you have your products configured in BigCommerce.

Finally, you may wish to add a channel feed template and get started with product listings, or you may wish to set up order sync to get marketplace orders into your store and updated back to the marketplace once you ship.

How to generate API credentials in BigCommerce

  1. Log in to your BigCommerce Administration Panel
  2. Under Advanced Settings, click API Accounts and Create API Account
  3. Select: Create V2/V3 API Token
  4. Enter a name: GoDataFeed (or your company name)
  5. Copy the API Path
    1. The API Path contains the store hash
    2. For example: https://api.bigcommerce.com/stores/m1m2m3m/v3/mceclip0.png
  6. Under OAuth Scopes:
    1. Find Information & Settings and select “read-only
      mceclip1.png
    2. Find Products and select “read-only
      mceclip2.png
    3. Click Save
  7. Copy the Access Token and click Done

Configure your GoDataFeed import from BigCommerce

  1. In GoDataFeed > Products > Primary Source
  2. Select BigCommerce App v3
  3. Enter your Store Hash and Access Token.
    1. Please note these details are automatically populated when you add our app directly from the BigCommerce page and sign in with your GoDataFeed account. Adding our app directly is our recommended installation method.
      mceclip4.png
  4. Highly recommended: check off Include 'Metafields'
    mceclip3.png
    1. This is the best way to ensure you are importing the most product data possible
    2. This enables us to import product metafields which may contain additional product attributes
    3. Each unique metafield key found is a new field in the import
    4. Our system will automatically import and add any new fields to the import mapping list
  5. Before you import, check the import allotment and consider raising it to a more appropriate estimate of your total sku count. Our system will tell you how many total skus were found if your allotment is not high enough to include everything, but setting it higher if needed now will save you time.
  6. Save -- now you may import your products

How to enable Multi-Currency Price Lists

See the following help article for the steps on: How to enable Multi-Currency Price Lists.

What are the differences between BigCommerce v2 and BigCommerce v3?

BigCommerce v2 allows you to only import parent products or import both parent + child products. There is an option in BigCommerce v2 primary source settings to enable "Product Options", which will then enable the variant products to import.  Regarding BigCommerce v3, the import time is much quicker and allows you to import custom fields.

BigCommerce v2  BigCommerce v3

Has the option to import only parent products or both parent + child products.

Cannot import custom fields.

*Note: if you want to change from BigCommerce v2 to v3, this action in your primary store will change the import mapping. Therefore it's best to migrate to a test store.
