Notes about imported data from Square

The following are some notes about how data is provided by Square via its API and how GoDataFeed handles that data.

Missing variant-specific weight, sale price and image attributes

Currently, Square Online import is missing attributes for variant weight, variant sale price, and variant assigned images. Square's technical team said these properties are not available in the Square Catalog API coming from Square.

If you need attributes, then we recommend contacting Square developer support and let them know that you would like them to include these properties in their API.

Online visibility

Square has three Visibility types in its UI. Here is how each type is imported via Square's API:

1. Visible: “Your item is ready to sell online and will show up in navigation & search results.”

Visible products will have this combination of properties in the imported product data:

  • ecom_visibility: VISIBLE
  • ecom_available: TRUE

2. Hidden: “Your item is available for purchase but only to those who have the link. Useful for exclusive items.”

Hidden products will have this combination of properties in the imported product data:

  • ecom_visibility: UNINDEXED
  • ecom_available: TRUE

3. Unavailable: “Not ready to sell? Hide your item until it's ready to be published to your site.”

Unavailable products will have this combination of properties in the imported product data:

  • ecom_visibility: UNINDEXED
  • ecom_available: FALSE
