Volusion requires a password reset every 3 months, in accordance with PCI compliance.
This includes the API password generated on the account to import your product data into GoDataFeed.
When the password expires, your product import in your GoDataFeed store will start to fail and we will email you this message:
These steps will help you renew your API password so we may continue to import your products or sync your orders.
Generating a new API password in Volusion
- In Volusion navigate to Inventory > Volusion API
- Scroll down to Generic\Products and click Run.
- On the next screen, click Run near top right.
Updating the password on your own
- The encrypted password string can then be obtained from the general query string information field. The password will be displayed between the text "&EncryptedPassword=" and "&".
- Copy and paste the encrypted password from Volusion over the existing one in your GoDataFeed primary source settings.

Optionally: Create an account that doesn't expire
Importing products from Volusion requires a user account to use in the API path. If you use a normal account in which the user logs in to Volusion admin, then the password would need to be reset every 90 days. .
If the user account never logs into Volusion, then the expiration functionality is not triggered. These steps help you create an account that does not expire after 90 days.
