How to submit the feed to impact.com
When you're ready to submit your feed to impact.com, you will use the Pull From URL upload method to connect your GoDataFeed output feed. Since we are a third-party catalog, you can locate your feed pull URL within your feed settings in GoDataFeed and use this URL to configure your catalog in impact.com. For impact.com's own documentation on catalog uploads, see their help article on downloading product catalogs as a partner. If you encounter catalog errors or warnings on the impact.com side, refer to their guide on troubleshooting product catalog errors and warnings.
Steps to enable a Product Catalog using impact.com
- In impact.com, navigate to your Catalog settings. Under Catalog Instructions, you can optionally upload a PDF file with catalog usage instructions (recommended for custom format files).
- Under Upload Method, select Pull From URL. This allows impact.com to fetch your GoDataFeed output feed directly from its hosted URL.
-
Set the Format to Custom format (XML/TXT/CSV/PSV format) and enter your Upload File Name (for example,
Impact_Feed.txt). -
Map the required catalog fields to the column or element names in your GoDataFeed output feed. See the Field mapping reference below for the recommended mappings. Optional fields can be left blank if they do not apply to your catalog.
- If you need to map additional attributes, use the Add Another Field option to add custom field-to-column/element mappings.
- In the Pull URL field, enter your GoDataFeed feed pull URL. You can locate this URL within your feed settings in GoDataFeed.
-
Set your Fetch Frequency (for example, Every 2 hour(s)), Fetch Time, and Time Zone to control how often impact.com pulls your latest feed data.
-
Set the Language, Currency, and Service Areas to match your catalog's market.
- Once all fields are mapped and your settings are configured, save your catalog to complete the submission. impact.com will pull your feed on the schedule you defined and keep your catalog updated automatically.
Field mapping reference
The impact.com catalog template includes a wide range of supported fields. When mapping in impact.com, point each field to the matching column or element name in your GoDataFeed output feed. For the complete list of all supported fields, including apparel, shipping, and product-detail attributes, refer to the full catalog template attached to this article.
Handling variants: If a product is a variant of another item, use Is Parent (TRUE/FALSE) to signal the parent SKU, and populate Parent Sku and Parent Name on the variant items to link them to their item family.
