How 'Snap URL Macros' dynamically send ad campaigns parameters to your site

Snap URL Macros are a tool that gives you a better understanding of the effectiveness of your ads! In order to append URL Macros, upload or sync the product catalog into the Snap UI with the desired macro(s) in the link for each product.

We support the following macros:

  • {{campaign.name}} - send the associated campaign's name in the product link
  • {{adSet.name}} - send the associated ad set's name in the product link
  • {{campaign.id}} - send the associated campaign's ID in the product link
  • {{adSet.id}} - send the associated ad set's ID in the product link
  • {{ad.id}} - send the associated ad's ID in the product link

Once appended, the link directly in your catalog should look like the below:

https://www.advertisersite.com/product-information?campaign_name={{campaign.name}}&ad_set_name={{adSet.name}}&campaign_id={{campaign.id}}&ad_set_id={{adSet.id}}&ad_id={{ad.id}}

You can use all available macros or can modify based on your own needs.

Create a rule to concatenate 'Snap URL Macros' to your links

Concatenation, one of our many feed rule functions, allows you to join fields or values together, like you would using a Excel function. For example, you can join your brands and titles or you could append colors to the end of your titles or units of measure to shipping dimensions.

After you name the rule, set the feed field link to your product url or link. Then, copy and paste this string of text into the rule concatenation field. Lastly, choose ALL PRODUCTS and save.

?campaign_name={{campaign.name}}&ad_set_name={{adSet.name}}&campaign_id={{campaign.id}}&ad_set_id={{adSet.id}}&ad_id={{ad.id}}

To concatenate values in a rule:

  1. Go to the Feeds tab in the left navigation
  2. Select the desired feed template
  3. Select Custom rules under the SETUP section of the sidebar menu
  4. Click the plus button add_button.PNG
  5. Name your rule
  6. Under SET, select the feed field you want to change
  7. Under TO, enter the desired value for your selected field by either typing it or choosing from either your imported Product [P] data or Feed [F] data from the drop-down menu
  8. To concatenate fields, you can add another field or value in the next available box
  9. Use the space key to give a space character between fields/values (see image below)
  10. Enter the conditions for this rule. To add additional conditions, click the Condition icon.
  11. Save
