Feed rules allow you to apply logic that update or modify product data on the listing channel.
With feed rules you can: join multiple fields of data together, add third-party tracking, replace text, calculate number values like markups or discount, and so much more to help you enhance the quality of your product listings on a channel.
How to create a feed rule
- In the desired Feed, go to the Rules page, and click the blue "+" button
-
Name your rule and optionally set a rule description
- In the SET section, select the feed field you want to alter with the rule
- In the TO section, enter the desired value for your selected field by either typing in static text, or choosing from either your imported Product [P] data or Feed [F] data from the drop-down menu
- Choose whether to apply the rule to: all or some products
- If you want to apply a rule to only some products, then write the conditions for the rule
- Save
Common feed rule functions
How to duplicate a rule
Make similar rules quickly by using the copy rule button. We'll ensure the rule name is unique by appending a timecode to the rule name. After the rule is duplicated, you can open the rule to make your changes, update the rule name, and save.
How to change conditions
Although rule conditions default to the most commonly used options of 'contains' and 'OR', every step of the rule is customizable. Simply select a different rule operator or condition from the dropdown menus:
How to add more rule conditions
Make similar rule conditions faster by duplicating the condition, then changing the values that are different rather than writing the entire condition repeatedly each time. For example, if we want to write the rule condition where quantity is less than '20'.
